Bristol, Boggity Boggity Boggity!

Fly Fishing Waders“Boggity Boggity Boggity lets go racin’ pull on your waders & go fishin’ boys!”

Ok who was it? Just who’s the “smart” guy that pissed off Mother Nature? (repeatedly!)

Was it you Dude trying to spread around a little of that Fontana Joy you experienced a couple weeks back?

Did someone desire to douse the flames of a Mario Batali tailgate party?

Come on fess up, who should PCNA slap with suspension for being in violation of “Sections 12-4-A, actions detrimental to (Bristol) stock car racing?”

Whoever it was better be lookin’ over their shoulder, Jeff Green, John Andretti and Patrick Carpentier may be warming up their helmet pitching arms looking for a little retribution.

UPDATE: Why would someone put out a press release (sad as it is) announcing a new NASCAR related website (NASCAR Fish) and the site only contains about .001% of what apparently is planned to include? Come on… the main site navigation has six items in the menu but only one, “Home” is active.

And the so called gallery? It includes pictures from 2007, nothing from 2008 and strangely enough, 4 pics out of the 48 total that appear to be of the British Touring Car Championship. (can you spell, “pulled from Flickr?”)

The NASCAR drivers page? From 2006, which prompted me to look up the sites registration. It was registered in 2006, that makes some sense, but was updated just last month. I don’t know who this brain child Carlos Lim is, (listed registrant and from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) but he has one hell of a lot of nerve putting out this trash. And that goes the same for the trash blog linked to from the site. That guy or gal (is that you Carlos?) can’t even embed links properly and contains nothing but NASCAR news headlines and no links to the story associated with them!

  1. Without doing the kind of research you are noted for Marc, I’m gonna guess that over the last five years most races have been relatively rain free. At least that’s the way my addled memory is recalling it.

As I am a believer in the law of averages I suspect we will see a lot of wash outs this year. Thank goodness F1 has started and the “new” IRL will kick off soon.

  2. Without looking I’d guess about one event a year gets delayed George. And probably one or two more have “issues.”

  3. That’s exactly my point. When you go weekend after weekend 36 times they’ve been extraordinarily lucky weather wise. This year may be different. The Nationwide just red flagged due to rain and they went 13 laps past half. Say goodnight Gracie!

  4. I would definitely agree with Marc … probably one a year gets postponed, with a couple more having issues. Last year I believe it was Michigan, and I recall there were some issues with Kansas - though that one ended relatively close to on time. I don’t think there’s much cause for concern over the long haul, though. Also, I think there’s only like a 20% chance of rain in the forecast for the race tomorrow. They should be able to get it all wrapped up at some point tomorrow regardless of what happens. And, honestly, I wouldn’t be too upset if it became a night race.
