DEI: The Battle Royale Begins

Forget all the rhetoric and recriminations of the last couple of years. Forget the media speculations (including this blogger) on Dale Jr. splitting the blankets and driving for another race team.

Junior isn’t going anywhere, will most probably resign with DEI and then lead a Palace Coup to oust Teresa as the official keeper of Dale Sr.’s legacy:

“The main factor is the ownership part,” Earnhardt said. “It has nothing to do with money and nothing else, really. I would really like my team, I like how things are going. … My father has been gone for almost six years now. I want majority ownership.”

This is going to get juicy!

  1. Going to get interesting indeed.

I read an article this morning in regards to the meeting, which stated that Jr may “feel a little pressure”.

I disagree. Jr’s in the driver’s seat for this, no pun intended, and I don’t believe he feels any pressure at all? Why? He holds all the cards, and it’s a royal flush against a pair of deuces.

He’s Junior. THE NASCAR driver in a lot of eyes. Not to mention, he has an old friend that will always “have his back”.

Worried? Not a bit. It’s either going to be by the rules of the “rightful heir”, or no rules at all. And he knows it.

  2. I couldn’t agree more Luke. Jr holds every card in the deck but the two jokers.

The4 first shot in this coup was when Jr won the rights to is name in court and the judge basicly told Teresa to take a hike.

I expect the end will be something on the order of a 51-49 split with Teresa in the minority BUT with some type of concession to giving her commercial rights to the #3 and nothing more.
