F1 is “Slinging” Singapore
Ah… Singapore Slings! One of my all-time favorite beverages, but I digress.
The FIA has made it official and approved the finalized layout of a street circuit for the City-State’s first ever F1 event to be held next September.
The 3.15-mile circuit will feature 10 left-hand and 14 right-hand turns and will cross two bridges. One is an iron structure almost 100 years old, so narrow that race promoters describe it as Singapore’s equivalent of the tunnel at Monaco.
The three reports I have read state no decision has been made whether it will be a night race, but this story quoting Ferrari’s Jean Todt seems to indicate it’s only a matter of time.
