Kurt Bush is NOT Paris Hilton

posted in NASCAR |

“We felt like we got everybody’s attention,” Robin Pemberton said of the 100 point reduction, $100,000 dollar fine and probation imposed on Kurt Busch.

I have little doubt what Pemberton said is true, but not in the context intended.

Without looking, and I haven’t as yet, the blogs and forums have in all probably spontaneously combusted into a roaring fire of protest. The overwhelming sentiment has been a spot on the bench this week would have been justified.

Before I go off to see how much outrage is on display I’ll end this way. The difference between what the seeming majority of NASCAR Nation wanted imposed on Busch is 75 points, the difference between sitting out and competing this week and losing 100 points via the penalty.

And lastly, Busch said he didn’t deserve to be parked for another race because his car never touched Stewart’s jackman.

“I had my car under control when I stopped next to Tony’s car next to pit road,” he said.

Sorry Busch, that’s like saying you didn’t intend to kill the American Bald Eagle when you were aiming at the crow sitting on the same fence. Not that Stewart is a crow or anything, I’m just saying.

A word of advice Busch, with ignorant remarks like that you’re far better off shutting your yap.

THE RESPONSES start rolling in:

First from Busch himself:

“Yeah, I did think I was probably going to get parked,” Busch said Friday before Nextel Cup practice at Pocono Raceway. “But it’s a blessing that NASCAR realized that nothing too serious did happen so we can move forward with this and get back to the normal roots of racing for us, which is to go and gain points on Sunday.”

Count those stars Kurt, no one was hurt when Harvick spun Coy Gibbs during a NCTS event in 2002, yet he was parked for a race in following weeks Cup event.

From Tony Stewart’s website: “Once more NASCAR showed it

Why not let us know what you think by adding your own comment! Your opinion is as valid as anyone elses. (Except mine, it takes precedence over all!)

    Thanks for the add above.

NASCAR dropped the ball completely, Kurt Busch got off easy, the penalty should have been suspended for one race at least, $100,000 fine and 150 driver/owner points after reckless driver on pitroad and endangering a crew member.

It’s not often you get much of a consensus of opinion from NASCAR fans but on the Busch incident and NASCAR’s reaction to it their is.

I’ve seen damn few defending Kurt and those few by the way they used language and tone of their comments were very plainly Busch partisans.
