What do NASCAR and Hockey Have in Common?
Innocent bystander: “Hey stupid, what do NASCAR and Hockey have in common?”
The Half-Vast Staff™ of Full Throttle: “Besides the obvious, a hockey teams 2nd or 3rd line center’s job is to ‘crash the net,’ and sometimes NASCAR’s drivers crash the SAFER barriers there is one other thing.”
Wearing NASCAR-inspired jerseys, the Tri-City Americans of the Western Hockey League, ahem… revved up their game Friday night and moved one step closer to their first U.S. Division title.
The NASCAR jerseys worn during the game are being auctioned off on the team website until Wednesday, the money raised will benefit the players education fund.
And what the hey, the team even has a Kyle (Birch) on the roster. No word on whether he was “Rowdy” in picking up any of the 144 minutes in penalties that were handed out Friday. Or whether the Rocket’s goalie stood in the crease like a “Shrub” as 4 American goals whizzed by him.
Funny the lengths to which a blogger goes to to find content during red flag periods isn’t it? (or maybe not)
